“I am BIG MAD!” – George Santos goes off the unhinged deep end as it all falls apart for him
House Republican George Santos got hit with even more criminal charges yesterday, ensuring that he’s going to end up in prison for a long time. In the day and a half since, Santos has been decompensating in real time.
Yesterday Santos threatened to take other House Republicans in the Long Island area down with him, after they called for his expulsion. Last night Santos vowed to take Speaker candidate Steve Scalise down with him, after Scalise refused to return his phone calls. Today Santos is even further off the deep end.
CNN tweeted a chart listing which House Republicans are leaning against voting for Scalise for Speaker, and placed George Santos in a column labeled “Undecided / Big Mad.” Santos responded to this chart by tweeting “I am BIG MAD!”
In another context this might be interpreted as silly fun. But this is a guy who just got hit with enough criminal charges to put him away for years to come, and has spent the past 36 hours publicly threatening to take his allies down with him. This is a guy who’s unraveling in real time. So when he yelled “I am BIG MAD” today, it’s fair to take it as an accurate assessment of how far gone he is.
