The media has largely ignored it, but President Biden has been one of the most successful presidents in history when it comes to conservation and the environment. What gets louder attention is either the outrage of the left – and mostly fringe activists who accuse his administration of not doing enough – or the conservatives who wildly misrepresent his administration’s actual proposals and what they have done so far for their own political gain.

Not only did President Biden sign the farthest reaching climate bill in history through his infrastructure plan, he also made possible thousands of new clean energy jobs – and now another aspect of his energy initiatives has impacted the market – just nine months into 2023.

For the first time in history, electric vehicles have topped one million units in sales, largely due to subsidies that have made it easier than ever to afford them. This comes at a time when gas prices are also dropping, and a boost in EV purchases will only further reduce pump prices while also cutting back on drilling and the need for oil production, which is the single clearest strategy to defeating Vladimir Putin in his war against Ukraine.

Practical approaches to clean energy are working, and we can expect to see a lot more of this by 2024, as more battery plants open in Michigan and other swing states with better initiatives than ever to buy electric.
