If it quacks like a duck…
I’ve said it before. Women have been fighting the good fight for equality since the beginning of time. And we’ve made much progress — in some areas. We’ve come a long way from the days when women who were raped or sexually assaulted lived in shame, when few came forward. These days, women are much more likely to be believed.
I believe Cassidy Hutchinson. Hutchinson, as Palmer Report laid out, says she was groped by Rudy Giuliani. I believe her. She said it happened on January 6. I believe her. She said Rudy was like “a wolf closing in on its prey.” I believe her.
This came out through her book, set to be released next week. Did this news surprise anyone? Other than Trump, there really isn’t another (former) politician as narcissistic as Rudy. The two men share much in common.
And I applaud Hutchinson for speaking out. Although we as a country have come a long way, that does not mean we do not have a ways to go. So many women still feel shame and still suffer silently and in secret for something that was never their fault.
I’d like to see a day when all women who are groped, assaulted, or raped come forward. I don’t know that that will ever happen. But I salute Cassidy. This can’t have been an easy accusation to make.
I say this because of Maga. In the squirming worm-world of the Maga loon, nothing bad is believed about anyone unless that person happens to be a Democrat. Rudy has denied the accusations.
My feeling is — if it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. I am 100 percent convinced Cassidy is telling the truth. And for anyone who asks why she is just now coming out with these accusations — screw you. I mean that in all seriousness.
What so many get wrong about victims of abuse, victims of assault and rape, and so many things — is that many, if not most women — never do come forward. They internalize. They blame themselves. They agonize and look back and take on the burden of guilt.
This is why it is vitally important that every woman be heard, and every woman’s story be taken seriously. We can’t go back to the past and change the attitudes toward women back then. But we can do better moving toward the future. If we continue to do so and shine a light on this, perhaps there will be a day when women coming forward with such claims are the majority.
