Fani Willis just spelled out RICO mandatory minimums for Donald Trump and his co-conspirators
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis held a press conference just before midnight tonight about the criminal indictments that she just had a grand jury bring against Donald Trump and eighteen of his co-conspirators.
Willis said a number of things during her press conference, including the fact that the mandatory minimum sentence for RICO will consist of prison time, and not probation. It never made any sense why so many TV pundits spent the day suggesting that Trump and his pals might somehow skate on probation for something as serious as RICO, but in any case, that doomsday hysteria has now been put to bed.
Another key detail mentioned by Fani Willis: while she has no stated preference for where she falls within the order of Donald Trump’s various criminal trials, she did state that she’ll seek a trial date within the next six months. This is at the discretion of the judge, not the DA. But if Willis gets her way, Trump and his eighteen pals would all be indicted and on their way to prison well before the next election.
