Donald Trump launches unhinged attack on Fani Willis as grand jury news breaks
Fresh off his third criminal indictment, Donald Trump is about to get indicted for a fourth time. This time it’s coming from Fulton County Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis. Trump is already preparing for the indictment by launching bizarre personal attacks against Willis, including made-up stories about her sex life that we won’t repeat here. Suffice it to say that Trump’s attacks are even more grotesquely unhinged than usual.
So what’s setting Trump off today? The news just broke from the Guardian that Fani Willis will begin presenting her indictments to the grand jury early next week, and the grand jury is expected to begin returning indictments as soon as Tuesday. That’s right, Trump and his co-conspirators could find themselves indicted in Fulton County one week from today.
As we’ve seen in other recent criminal cases against Donald Trump, grand jury endgame indictment timeframes can end up being a bit fluid. But it is important to keep in mind that in this probe, Willis already used a special grand jury to do all the investigative legwork and produce a detailed report recommending indictments.
While Willis has subpoenaed some witnesses to testify to the grand jury next week, she doesn’t have to bring back every witness who has already testified. She can simply read their previous testimony to the grand jury. So it’s entirely reasonable to expect that, with Willis starting the indictment process next week, she could indeed have the grand jury issue the indictments by Tuesday. No wonder Trump is being even more deranged than usual.
