Fifteen hours?
Donald Trump didn’t get criminally indicted today by Jack Smith’s grand jury, unless it happened under seal. But now we’re getting confirmation tonight from CBS News that the grand jury is scheduled to meet tomorrow.
CBS is further pointing out that if the grand jury does vote to indict Trump tomorrow morning, the magistrate judge who would sign off on the indictment tends to hear such things at 1pm eastern time tomorrow.
This does not mean that Donald Trump will be indicted fifteen hours from now. But it does mean that the window for Trump’s indictment does indeed open for business in fifteen hours. This is remarkable in the sense that we’re getting close enough to be this specific about the timeframe.
