Lordy, Jack Smith has multiple recordings of Donald Trump that will be used at trial
Awhile back it was reported that Jack Smith had a recording of Donald Trump discussing a classified military document with Mark Meadows’ ghostwriters at his Bedminster golf resort. Now the DOJ has formally notified Trump of the evidence it intends to use against him at trial, and according to CNN, the list includes multiple recordings of interviews that Trump did.
Of course we don’t know what these “interviews” even are. It could be that Trump’s interactions with the ghostwriters spanned across multiple interviews, and each was recorded separately. Or it could be that the other “interviews” are from something totally different. All we know is that these recordings are incriminating, Jack Smith has them, and he intends to use them at trial.
The kicker is that Donald Trump does know what these recordings are. That’s how the discovery process works. Trump is surely enraged by this, and wants to either publicly dispute the recordings, or attack whoever cooperated and gave up the recordings. But Trump is under court order not to discuss any of this, and he knows that if he starts blabbing, he could end up in a jail cell before he even gets to trial.
