What Donald Trump doesn’t get about his own downfall

I believe that this week has been the worst week of Donald Trump’s life so far. There isn’t any way to get around it: this week is one Trump will look back on with bitterness, hate, and fury.

This was the week his attorneys begged Jack Smith not to indict. This was the week Trump’s nemesis, Chris Christie, got into the race. So for that matter, did his Vice President — Mike Pence. This was the week the world learned about the flood from the Mart-a-logo pool, which did NOT get rid of the evidence, much as Trump likely wished that it did.

And this was the week Trump learned of his betrayal by Mark Meadows. This historic week, which isn’t over yet, has seen one outburst after another from Trump. He’s tried desperately to get away from fate, but nothing he’s done or is doing has worked, and nothing will work.

Trump appears to be in shock, asking on truth social, “How can the DOJ possibly charge me?” He STILL doesn’t get it. He still doesn’t get that he’s trapped. And now Trump has been reduced to a blabbering idiot, a mass of orange mess, seemingly unable to get off truth social where his diatribes have almost become 24-hour events.

It’s tremendously satisfying to see Trump lose his mind in this way. These temper tantrums serve as a sort of karmic retribution for all the suffering he’s put this country through. And now it’s down to the wire. It’s indictment watch. Who knows, an indictment may come today — or tomorrow — or perhaps next week. And we can’t wait until it does.
