Turns out Donald Trump has known he was the target since last week
This morning one of Donald Trump’s associates claimed that the DOJ informed Trump’s lawyers last week that Trump was being indicted. Trump then went on social media and insisted that this was untrue.
But now it turns out Trump has known since last week that he was being targeted for indictment, according to The Guardian. This means that last week’s meeting between Jack Smith and Trump’s lawyers was indeed a “your client is being indicted” type of meeting, as we all sort of suspected.
But now at least we know that Donald Trump was lying when he claimed this morning that he didn’t know he was being targeted for indictment. Of course Trump lying isn’t really news either. It looks like we’re at that point where we’re finally getting confirmation of a lot of things that we already pretty much knew or thought were true. There’s going to be a lot more of that in the coming hours and days. Bring it on.
