There’s something wrong with GOP Senator Tommy Tuberville
Teachers are the glue that holds our learning centers together. I’ve never been a teacher. I’ve always felt they don’t get near enough credit for doing what they do. I’m sure we can all remember a teacher (or two) whom we adored and who helped shape us. Teachers play a such a significant role in children’s lives. They are the unsung heroes who don’t get nearly enough credit.
The GOP does not seem to care about teachers. We’ve brought you the story of how, in certain areas, Tenure for teachers is under attack. And, of course, republicans have attempted to turn teachers into gun-wielding soldiers, suggesting that perhaps all teachers be armed.
And now, yet another Republican has come out against teachers. And this Republican should know better, given that he used to be a football coach. Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is one of the more stupid members of the Senate. His getting elected is proof of many voting against their own self-interest. The man is not bright, as his recent attempts to embrace white nationalists show us.
But Tuberville has now come out against teachers — at least the ones in cities. It happened on Donald Trump Junior’s Rumble show “triggered.” (Gosh, what a horrible name.) The two men were discussing how utterly horrific our educational systems are.
“Most of them (teachers) in the inner city, I don’t know how they got degrees,” Tuberville said profoundly.
“I don’t know whether they can read and write,” Tommy continued.
“And they want a raise. They want less time to work, less time in school.”
“It’s just we’ve ruined the work ethic in this country.”
“We don’t work at it anymore. We push an easy life.”
Naturally, these profound and brilliant statements from Tuberville were met with disgust. As we all know, Tommy isn’t exactly a walking advertisement for intelligence. It’s also a horrible thing to say and a blatant insult against our educators. It seems Tommy is going the way of Ted Cruz, which basically means getting laughed at on a daily basis.
First off, teachers are heroes, especially the inner city ones, because they come into contact with so many issues unique to their cities. Second, I would like to question if TOMMY can read or write. Perhaps he can find a banned book or two and read from it because right now, I’m not convinced he actually graduated from elementary school.
Finally everyone is entitled to seek out the type of life we’d like, whether an easy one or one filled with hardships. Tuberville certainly has a lot of nerve. The stupid comments from him seem to be piling up lately.
