The fallout from the repulsive, horrible, pathetic CNN Trump town hall continues. Some information is spilling out about CNN’s incompetent CEO, Chris Licht. Reportedly Donald Trump assured Licht that he would boost the ratings of the Sad network, known as CNN.

Licht was reportedly delighted to see Trump and the two men chatted. “Have a good conversation and have fun,” Licht reportedly told Trump before the town hall began. Now there is other more murky news that Licht and the Trump campaign agreed on and came to an understanding that CNN would book more of Trump’s posse to be featured on the network. CNN denies that.

However, CNN DID feature many a Trump sycophant, including Ohio’s Hill-bully elegy Senator JD Vance. And reportedly, Trump was delighted with how it all went. On his return flight home, he reportedly celebrated by playing James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s World.”

So what are we to make of all this? For Licht, I doubt this is about politics. It’s about one man who has failed at his job who is now in full desperation mode, clinging to the scaffolding with one finger, fully aware that finger could slip at any time.

Licht’s on his last legs. He is out to find viewers — eyes — anyway he can. This is because of his job. As CEO, Licht gets a heck of a lot of perks like schmoozing with the big shots of media, having power lunches, getting paid a fortune, but most of all, being SEEN.

And what do I mean by being seen? I mean — POWER. People look at Licht and know he’s the big guy on the totem pole. As CNN CEO, he gets to play the big shot. Do you have any idea how addicting power is? I’d say for some — it’s more addicting than money. It’s like an hourly shot of adrenaline.

Power is the biggest drug in politics. Power is what Licht achieved, and doggone it, he isn’t going to let it go without a fight. He likely knows he’ll never have a job with so much external recognition as this one.

Did you know that Licht hosted a party called “Political Hangover” the day AFTER the white house correspondents’ dinner?

There was money. There was power. There was a bloody Mary station. There was Tiesto doing a live DJ set. (For those who don’t know, Tiesto is considered one of the best DJ’s around. And he doesn’t come cheap.)

Party-goers mingled, and Licht went all out. It was an overly lavish event, almost obscene in its splendor. And Chris Licht reigned supreme — he was the host, he got to lap up all the compliments.

So yes, Licht also got his town hall. And that won’t help him any. This is because, in the light of the day, he looks foolish. He looks like exactly what he is — a self-styled, greedy hanger-on who knows zilch about America and politics.
