Nice try, Republicans. We see you.
We see you. The other day on social media, I was referred to as a “Vessel.” Not me personally. Me as a woman. Women who carry babies are “vessels,” this republican voter claimed. We are vessels that are here to carry your babies.
I am not a vessel. I am not a vessel nor a breeding mare nor a toy. My body is my own. It belongs to nobody else and certainly not you. We see you in your weakness and fear of us.
Republicans, it is difficult not to cry out in anger when you do the evil that you do. But I do not. I channel my anger into activism. So do many women.
Dear Republican, you’ve made a giant mistake. You’ve underestimated us. Did you think we would stand by? Did you think we would take it? Did you ever wonder? And do you even see us as people at all?
My body is not your vessel, Republicans. No woman is anyone’s breeding mare, their personal property. We belong to ourselves. We stand tall, singing joyous songs of freedom. We know that scares you.
The times, they changed and left you behind in the dust. And your spirits stayed there as well, locked in times past, aching to turn back the clocks where women were meek, shrinking violets, under your thumb, under his eye.
Only you miscalculated. There are many more of us than of you. And we see you, Republicans. We see you ALL.
As Amy Schumer said:
“I am a woman with thoughts and questions and shit to say.”
“You will not determine my story — I will.”
Dear Republicans,
You have set off a storm with your actions. Do you really not see how stagnant your party has become? Do you even understand that your party can no longer win? We see you. We see your hatred. We see your cruelty and how little you think of us, our independence, and our freedoms. And this is one battle you will lose and have already lost.
