Ron DeSantis just got a taste of his own medicine
Never let it be said that Democrats are weak and don’t know how to play dirty. I say this because Democrats have decided to do an about-face. They’re now firmly behind books bans — or at least one particular book ban. The name of this critically panned, awful book is: “The courage to be free” — by Ron DeSantis.
Yep. You read that right. Florida Democrats have decided, what’s good for the goose — is ten times as good for the gander. And they’re seeking to ban the Florida fool’s brand new book, which few have read anyway. Take THAT, DeSantis.
Gosh, it feels good, does it not? It always feels good when DeSantis is made to look foolish, which is happening with increasing regularity. First, he was foiled by a mouse. Now it looks like his own book might just be banned because of his own legislation.
“The very trap that he set for others is the one he set for himself,” said Fenrice Driskell, Minority leader of the Florida House. This effort by Democrats goes across 50 Florida counties. Democrats want Ronny’s book scrutinized in the same way other books have been.
And Democrats have already pointed to a whopping 17 sections of the book that could violate his legislation. After, the man uses the word “woke” repeatedly in his book. That could make some children feel very uncomfortable.
He also uses the term “gender ideology.” Horrors! That could damage a kid, so in keeping with his legislation, this book is not for children and needs to be taken from libraries. I am usually against book-banning, of course, but you know what? I love this! I love this “up yours” to Medusa’s brother, who seems to think he does not need to follow the rules he has set for everybody else.
So we’ll see where this goes. In the meantime, if you live in Florida or know anyone who does — share this with them and encourage them to get involved in the right to keep DeSantis humble (not that THAT will ever happen.) But he must learn he lives under the same rules as everyone else.
