In the time since Donald Trump entered the 2016 presidential election with what we now know was wide ranging help from the Russian government, a startling number of people have dropped dead who were either connected to the scandal or prominent Russian figures. Now another prominent Russian had mysteriously died, this time a high ranking member of the media.

Yuri Nikiforov, the Editor of Russian news agency Interfax, has died according to a Russian-language news article published by RBC (link). When run through Google Translate, reads in part: “Interfax editor Yuri Nikiforov was found dead, RBC’s first deputy general director Alexei Gorshkov told RBC.” The official adds, in what is something of a broken translation, “Information about suicide has been thrown in, and law enforcement agencies should give comments, but from our point of view this is a strange story. No signs that would confirm this version, neither from colleagues, nor from relatives are not noticed.”

The death of a prominent journalist in Russia, where journalists are regularly persecuted and murdered by the government, is always worthy of suspicion. In this particular instance, where even the Russian media is acknowledging that it considers his death to be a “strange story,” it stands out as being even more suspicious. Furthermore, this comes as part of a larger pattern of numerous suspicious Russian deaths since the start of the Trump-Russia scandal.

As Palmer Report has previously documented, multiple members of the Russian intelligence community have either died or disappeared who were believed to have aided former MI6 agent Christopher Steele in crafting his Trump-Russia dossier. In addition, multiple Russian diplomats have died in the United States from what was officially labeled as heart attacks, despite having had severe head wounds. One Russian fell from a fourth story window the day before he was set to testify against Vladimir Putin’s interests in a trial.
