Ron DeSantis is quickly flopping on the national stage
“He’s just no good at this.” That phrase is being whispered about by many. And the whisperers are referring to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. “Looks foolish.” We told you a long time ago that the surge of popularity DeSantis was enjoying could not last.
The reason it could not last is that very few politicians can carry that high approval for too long. Usually, what happens in a situation like that is it is merely the press being attracted to a shiny new object.
Then the shiny new object opens its mouth, and out comes — well – it varies in all cases, but one thing is definitive. The candidate can’t live up to the flawless pedestal the media and often the voting public have placed this person on.
So the person topples off the pedestal– fast. And that is what’s happening to DeSantis. He is toppling from his pedestal, and Republicans are getting quite concerned.
There are two reasons for this toppling. Number one is that some in Maga are turning on him. Second, he has gone so far to the right that even republicans are alarmed. It doesn’t help that the man has a voice like an organ — when the organ breaks.
New polling shows his numbers are down, and the man must know it. So the other day, he attempted to do the impossible — swipe at Donald trump WHILE defending him. That doesn’t work, Ron. If you don’t know that by now, you really aren’t much of a politician. Look at what Ron said and how he tried to play it:
“I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over an alleged affair. I can’t speak to that.” He then went on to clobber the media and Alvin Bragg. But just look at how he tried to dis trump. And you know what? It may have worked 30 years ago when the political climate was different.
But not now. It’s a new world, Ronny! You’re either ride or die with trump, or you’re against him. There is no middle ground.
Plus, his base has known about stormy for years and couldn’t care less. If this was Ron’s best shot, it says a lot. Ah, Ron — one can see, you want to jump into the race, one can feel the need — but you’re reluctant. That could be because you know you’ll be creamed as soon as you DO jump in. And your own life will be an open book for many a media pundit to nose through.
