These January 6th attackers are even further gone than we thought
Reminding us just how unhinged the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol are, KTVB 7 in Idaho published a story of one who was recently found guilty. Yvonne St. Cyr was found guilty on five charges related to being inside of the Capitol of January 6. She can’t complain, though she likely will, as she was found guilty by a jury of her peers. She cannot now complain that she was unfairly singled out or found guilty by bias.
According to the report that led to her arrest, FBI Special Agent Matthew Gano wrote that Cyr went into the Capitol between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., long after she should have known not to do so. She was photographed inside of what is called the Senators Hideaway Office. Cyr had a response to her guilty verdict: “I still feel like I did the right thing, and I still feel like God is in control, and he’s got a plan. I don’t know what it is but I’m a part of it.” Oh, boy. Sorry, but God doesn’t support criminals He just doesn’t. If you believe in God, then you know He doesn’t condone evil behavior, and everything those people did that day was evil. He is not their co-conspirator, and contrary to their belief, He did not send Donald Trump to save the world. Her God talk is only the beginning of her madness.
KTVB reported that Cyr appeared on a live video taken in a hotel room after the riot. She admitted breaching the Capitol and ranted about QAnon conspiracy theories and the lies relating to fraud in the 2020 election. The news station reported that this isn’t Cyr’s first brush with the law. She was arrested in December 2020 for trespassing on the property of Central District Health during a meeting and refusing to leave. Her mistaken thoughts about the world and how things work is obviously long-standing, but she’s about to find out how things work. Her sentencing is scheduled for June 9 at 1:30 p.m.
Most of these criminals are trying to find excuses for where they now find themselves, but all they need to do is look in their mirrors. Whether they admit it or not, they must know that what they did was wrong. The damage and destruction they caused was unnecessary and continues to plague us to this day. According to a March 6, 2023, report from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in DC, they are continuing to investigate losses, which, as of October 14, 2022, stood at $2,881,360.20. All these fools need to pay restitution. While they ran through the halls screaming “our house,” they certainly had no qualms about damaging “their” house. The remaining numbers are just as staggering: 326 have been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, 11 have been charged with assaulting members of the media and/or destroying their equipment, and 106 were charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing bodily harm to an officer. The numbers go beyond this, but these people are crazy. There is no better way to explain their behavior.
