Cocaine is one hell of a drug

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I’m not saying Donald Trump was high on cocaine on Wednesday night. How would I know? I wasn’t there. All I know is that he went into a dinner meeting with the opposition party, gave away the store in return for nothing, issued a statement denying he’d done so, and then went balls-out whacko on Twitter, randomly declaring that he had won the debates against Hillary Clinton – which took place a year ago. So let’s talk about this.

In a span of just forty-six minutes last night, Trump went from bizarre behavior during dinner, to denying it had happened, to tweeting this monstrosity: “Crooked Hillary Clinton blames everybody (and every thing) but herself for her election loss. She lost the debates and lost her direction!” What is he even talking about? I’m not sure what’s more embarrassing here – that he thinks “everything” is two words, or that he thinks he won the debates. Again, I’m not saying he’s high. Except that he’s suddenly talking about the debates, and during them he was almost certainly high.

We all remember Trump sniffing his way through three miserable debate performances, acting like he’d just been launched out of a cannon, stalking Hillary around the stage, stopping to dry hump a chair. This was bonkers behavior even for him. Since taking office, Trump has mostly been lethargic, slow, lacking in energy. In short he’s been acting like someone who needs a stimulant in order to have any energy at all, and since he moved into the White House, he’s been having trouble connecting with his dealer.

Again, I’m not saying Donald Trump was coked out of his mind last night. But the man followed up his first manically deranged tweet with this one: “The ‘deplorables’ came back to haunt Hillary. They expressed their feelings loud and clear. She spent big money but, in the end, had no game!” It’s like he got so excited to type Hillary’s name, he forgot that a space even goes after a period. Or maybe that’s the space he used when he turned “everything” into two words. There are sitcom scripts more believable than this buffoon. Contribute to Palmer Report
