Donald Trump is totally out of it
Over the weekend, Donald Trump attempted to convince people that he was a serious candidate for President of the United States. Only it didn’t work. It didn’t work because people got to see Trump speak — and the results left many dissatisfied.
As Bill Palmer has said, the more people see Trump, the more they turn off to him. His voice is a flat affect; he appears bored and boring, and there is no zest — no energy. He is like a human robot, mechanical, hulking, almost blank of human emotion.
During his rallies this weekend, Trump appeared out of it, filled with grievance, and once again focused on me, me, me. “Nobody cares.” That is being whispered. Many people simply do not care about Trump’s problems anymore.
He airs them all, over and over and over again, with no end in sight, a vengeful robot programmed to complain, and for enthusiastic people who really want to hear SOLUTIONS and an actual platform, it is once again all about Trump. That might be why Trump’s fundraising numbers are terrible. Reports are the maniac is strapped for cash and is struggling to raise money for his non-existent campaign.
And Republicans are noticing. That may be why few are endorsing him. And there is something else. There are reports all over that many Republicans — though they would never ever say this out loud –are hoping that Trump is indeed indicted and taken out of their hair. That way, they do not actually have to speak out against him. Jack Smith can take care of it for them.
Watching this whole trump drama play out is both amusing and fascinating, as well as terribly sad. It is amusing because Trump truly appears to have turned into a feelingless robot who has no idea that he’s over.
It is fascinating — and sad — because the GOP STILL, after all this time, trembles like little Chihuahuas when faced with what to do about Trump. As satisfying as it is to see that Trump is over, it might just be MORE satisfying if the GOP would find their voices and stand up to him.
