Hopefully, the end of Donald Trump is near. Geoff Duncan, who is Georgia’s former lieutenant governor, is now a CNN commentator. He said today that Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, “has enough evidence to indict” Donald Trump. Duncan is another “never Trumper” Republican and was loudly vocal against Trump’s claims of fraud in the 2020 election. Duncan chose not to run for reelection, leaving the office open to be secured by Trump lackey Burt Jones. Duncan left the office, but he continues to oppose the election deniers in his party.

Fani Willis has asked Judge Robert McBurney to keep the grand jury report under seal. According to Atlanta News First, Willis wants “all future defendants to be treated fairly” because “decisions on indictments are imminent.” Due to that request, the report should absolutely remain under seal until a second grand jury is ready to hand down indictments. WRDW-TV, however, wrote that Judge McBurney “continues to mull over” whether to make the report public. What’s to “mull over?” It is not a good idea to release the report until the prosecution is ready to make a move, one way or the other.

Trump, meanwhile, is still claiming that the investigation is “a political witch hunt” and also claims that his calls to Brad Raffensperger were “perfect.” He claimed his interference in Ukraine was “perfect” as well, and we know that turned out to be an attempt at blackmail. Listen, Trump thinks everything he does is perfect, and this situation is no different, but according to Raw Story, Trump is “clearly agitated” because of Willis’s announcement that indictments are imminent. Raw Story’s piece is based on MSNBC’s Steve Benen’s comments that Trump’s “hysterical tirades” prove that he is worried. Trump, as usual, tries to turn attention away from himself by pointing to other issues, and in this instance, he decided to complain about crime rates in Atlanta. As Benen pointed out, Trump is merely trying to imply that Willis’s attention would be better focused on her city. Trump misses the point that he is also committed a crime in Atlanta and that Willis is, in fact, focusing on crime in her city. Trump is crying out for help, and no one is coming. He made his bed; it’s past time for him to lie in it. Trump’s Atlanta attorneys-Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg of Findling Law and Jennifer Little with Jennifer Little Law-tweeted their “assumption” that Trump didn’t violate Georgia law because he was never called to testify. If they truly believe that statement, those are three attorneys you should never hire. It’s all PR. They and Trump all know he is guilty as hell.

Testifying before the House Select Committee, Raffensperger told the committee that Trump’s claims of election fraud were false. In fact, Raffensperger told the committee that the 2020 election “went remarkably smooth” and that Georgia “had a successful election.” Yet, Trump called him to ask him to “find” enough votes to give Trump the victory. The fact that Trump broke election laws in Georgia is clear. He must be indicted.
