Liz Cheney’s revenge
From the moment she stood up for democracy, Liz Cheney has been snubbed, ignored, laughed at, and jeered — by her own party. This is the reward one gets from the GOP for defending democracy, I suppose.
And nobody has been crueler to her than Arizona loser Kari Lake. When Liz Cheney campaigned against her, Lake thanked her, saying sarcastically that Cheney’s non-support actually helped her. (Lake.)
“Thank you again for the huge boost to our campaign! Enjoy your forced retirement from politics,” Lake said snidely. What a low blow. It’s still astonishing — after all this time — the cruel lengths that some republicans will go to trying to destroy any of their own who do good.
Liz gets the last light, though. The race was called for Katie Hobbs, and Lake became the biggest loser of the state of Arizona. And don’t think Cheney didn’t notice. She did. And she had her moment of sweet revenge.

Twitter absolutely exploded with mirth and with glee. It was a short and simple takedown that must have warmed the hearts of anyone with a political soul.
Liz Cheney got her sweet revenge. She stood up for our side and helped our side, so I certainly can spare a few minutes to thank her — and to bask in the glow of her revenge.
As for Kari Lake? I’m sure she saw the tweet. And I’m pretty sure she won’t answer because what could she possibly say? Like all Trumpers eventually do, she made an utter and complete fool of herself, and it isn’t just Cheney’s revenge — it’s all of ours. And revenge has never felt so sweet.
