The Lake has been drained
The lake has been drained. Katie Hobbs has won the Governor’s race in Arizona! “Drain the swamp” was Maga’s mantra. “Drain the lake” is mine. Lake has been losing it in recent days as the Arizona count goes on. Not one for subtlety, Lake has trashed the counters, called her own state an embarrassment, and declared Arizona is the laughing stock of America. Just the type of person one would want to be your Governor.
The Hobbs win is so sweet. And it is a win that came with no help from the media, who gave her a more difficult time than they ever have Lake. But some are saying Katie Hobbs is an actual genius. Their reasoning is that by Hobbs refusing to debate Lake, she showed her confidence the race could be won on ideas, not personalities.
I agree with this analysis. Hobbs chose to give Lake the one thing people like her cannot stand. Indifference.The media could really learn something from her approach. By ignoring her, Hobbs made sure everybody saw the real lake. That’s probably why Lake did not perform as expected. Because Arizonans did see the real Lake, and they didn’t much like what they saw.
Think about if Hobbs had debated her. That is giving Lake exactly what she wants — television time. Undoubtedly the media would have both sides it to death. By simply acting as though Lake were invisible, Hobbs infuriated Lake — who fought for her attention to no avail.
Congratulations Governor Elect Hobbs.Think how Lake must hate hearing those words. The lake, meanwhile, has been drained as it looks like Keri and her verbal vomit are heading no place but down.
