Withering on the vine
John Fetterman is ahead of Mehmet Oz in two new polls. I am going to repeat that. John Fetterman is ahead of Mehmet Oz in two new polls. Now I want to tell you something else. When I went to sleep last night, the media narrative on at least two stations was:
“Republicans look to be ahead.”
“Split-ticket voting.”
“Many might vote for a Democrat in Pennsylvania and a republican (Mehmet) for Senator.”
When I woke up today, the media narrative was:
See the above statements.
Just before I sat down to write this, the media narrative was:
See above.
They do not stop. And I ask you to ignore, turn off, and change the channel. Let them wither on the vine because that is what is happening to knowledge right now — BECAUSE of the media.
Knowledge of polls, of how elections work is withering on the vine because most in the media refuse to tell the truth. Some do. Joy Reid had a segment on MSNBC the other night about junk polls. NBC’s Dasha Burns, on the other hand, has her twitter page adorned with fawning Mehmet Oz articles predicting many will split their ticket.
John Fetterman is ahead. HOW have many media pundits (other than us) even bothered to TELL you that? That is what is meant by the withering on the vine of knowledge. The media does it for ratings which means money, and they do not seem to care about much else.
It’s likely to keep happening. Ignore them. Other than when I must watch them to report on them, I have mostly turned them off. They’re as useless as cars without wheels. They persist and persist in feeding false narratives. They have learned nothing from times past. And it is likely they never will.
