DOJ appears to tip off that it’ll put Donald Trump on trial for espionage
Even as the DOJ has made aggressive moves including carrying out a search warrant at Donald Trump’s home and making court filings that reference the Espionage Act, the defeatists keep insisting that the DOJ won’t actually bring any criminal charges against Trump. But these types never can seem to use anything more than cliches to support their argument. Meanwhile back in the real world, the DOJ is making moves.
Once the DOJ is nearly finished investigating and building a criminal case, and decides what charges to bring, it typically adds people with experience in prosecuting those specific crimes. So it’s a big deal that the DOJ has just added David Raskin to the team investigating Donald Trump’s theft of classified documents. Raskin’s specialty is prosecuting espionage cases.
In other words, the DOJ appears to have just tipped off that it will indeed indict Donald Trump for espionage and put him on trial for it. Of course that already seemed a given, based on what we’ve seen up to this point. But this appears to cement it. Trump is awaiting an ugly fate after the midterms. In the meantime, our job is to put in the work these final ten days by volunteering for competitive midterm candidates.
