These right wing lunatics are spiraling out of control

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The GOP is getting wackier in their fanaticism. And right now that fanaticism has paid a visit to Oklahoma. And I do pity the poor people of the state of Oklahoma if this person wins. I refer to Ryan Walters.

Walters is running on the Republican ticket to be Oklahoma’s state superintendent. There is a problem with Walters, though. He is insane. Oklahoma, are you listening? One thing Walker wants to do should he win his election is reeducate teachers.

And the way he plans to do that is by putting these teachers through “patriotic education” classes at a right-wing college. Don’t do it, Oklahoma! The Tulsa World reports that Walters is determined to do this because, in his (insane) opinion, teachers are currently “indoctrinating” their students.

“Our kids need to know about the founding,” he thundered. “They need to know this country was founded on Judeo-Christian values.” Some teachers are reportedly horrified and “dreading” his tenure, with some teachers threatening to quit.

My feeling about all this? You have the power Oklahoma. You can reject this man. Oklahoma is very beautiful. In my travels, I’ve had opportunity to spend time there. It is yet another state under Republican control that could really use the Democrat touch.

This story coming out of Oklahoma is not exclusive to that state. This type of talk is being heard in other areas. The talk of fanaticism. We (The Democrats) are not fanatics. But the GOP is. And the price many have to pay for coming into contact with such fanaticism is high — much too high.
