Yet another reason to put all chips down on the midterms
Abortion. Sensible gun safety reform. Healthcare. The economy. Prosecuting traitors. There are so very many reasons to vote straight blue across the board this November. But there is one reason that isn’t getting a lot of coverage. I believe that reason is as important as anything.
It is Ukraine.
Ukraine is still fighting Putin and his disgusting war. And I worry for them. I also worry that if the GOP wins, they will cut funding to Ukraine, as many of them have suggested they want to do. This is all over the place. Maga would love it and have been very vocal in deriding the war, with some in Maga-land even blaming Ukraine and siding with Putin.
And Kevin McCarthy, who is good for nothing except taking away the rights of millions, has verbally said if the GOP takes back power, it will mean no more of a “blank cheque” for Ukraine.
And Ukraine is also worried, with many expressing shock over McCarthy’s words. And why wouldn’t they be shocked? We’re SUPPOSED to be allies of Ukraine. I’m not so sure that memo ever reached Kevin McCarthy. On social media, things have become worse. Maga openly jeers at people with the Ukraine flag and the “Slava Ukraine” in their profiles. Ad David Arakhamia, head of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s party in parliament, expressed how stunned he was.
He also said he’d met with McCarthy only a short time ago and was led to believe support and aid for Ukraine would continue from us no matter who won. So please, voters — don’t forget our Ukrainian friends in deciding how to vote. They are in trouble, and they need us. What they do not need is to be cruelly cut off by Kevin McCarthy and his minions.
