Trump stooge Kari Lake just did us a favor

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Republican nominee Kari Lake did us all a favor this morning by going on CNN and helping persuadable voters in Arizona figure out that she’s an extremist whack job. Extremists like Lake face a catch-22 whenever they do a mainstream interview. They’d need to say reasonable things in order to expand their reach and appeal to persuadable voters in the middle. But if they get caught saying anything reasonable and non-deranged, their deranged base may turn on them. Lake would have been better off not doing the CNN interview at all.

Lake is now trending on social media, but for all the wrong reasons. Yes, her base is thrilled at her deranged CNN performance. But her base was going to vote for her anyway, and simply isn’t large enough to elect her by itself. Lake needs votes from outside her base – and today probably cost her votes.

Instead of just lamenting about how awful Kari Lake is, let’s seize the opportunity by donating to Democratic nominee Katie Hobbs – which you can do here.
