What will Republicans do now?

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

The Republicans know full well what a liability Herschel Walker is, but they are determined to stick with him. That’s not a hard decision since they don’t have much of a choice. As Washington Post reported, Georgia law does not allow a candidate to be replaced this late in the game. So, whether they like it or not, Republicans are stuck with Walker. They deserve him. Walker is a classic Retrumplican. He lies every time he opens his mouth, and if he’s not lying, he’s spouting nonsense. Honestly, he could be Trump’s brother from another mother. Trump, of course, claims that the “liberal media” is out to get Walker, but it’s not like he doesn’t give them plenty to work with.

The Daily Beast reported earlier this week that Mr. Complete Abortion Ban paid for a girlfriend’s abortion in 2009. Walker, of course, denies this. What do you expect him to do? Daily Beast claims to have corroboration from “a close friend” who said she took care of the woman following the procedure. This close friend also claims that Herschel Walker had the nerve to send the woman a “get well” card, and she has a receipt for the procedure and a copy of Walker’s check reimbursing the woman. According to NBC News, Walker plans to sue for defamation. Let’s see how that turns out or if it ever even happens. If it doesn’t, we can assume the story is true. Everyone knows that the defense to a charge of defamation is the truth, and if Walker knows this story is true, surely, he won’t embarrass himself further by filing suit.

It’s not helpful for Walker that his own son is calling him out as a “liar and a hypocrite,” NBC News reported. Christian Walker went off on him, outlining his lies and declaring him a fraud. That should come as no surprise. What should also come as no surprise is Walker’s explanation for the check the woman claims to have to Sean Hannity. Walker claims: “Well, I send money to a lot of people. I give money to people all the time, because I’m always helping people, because I believe in being generous.” Let’s test Walker. Everyone reading this piece should write to Walker, outlining our needs, and wait for his check to arrive; just don’t hold your breath while you’re waiting.

At this point, Republicans should just give up on Walker, but they can’t. They can’t replace him, and they need Georgia to take control of the Senate. Good luck. They also need Pennsylvania, which they are in danger of losing to John Fetterman. No matter how Mitch McConnell tries to paint this picture, Republicans are in trouble-they are in trouble because they allowed Donald Trump to take over their party and fill senate races with incompetent, unqualified candidates. That’s what happens when you are spineless and refuse to stand up to someone who is himself also incompetent and who does nothing but spew hate and intolerance. Republicans, this is your world; welcome to it.
