You’re on the wrong track
I just can’t take anyone seriously who’s talking about the 2024 election – which is two full years away – when we’re five weeks from the 2022 midterms. 2024 doesn’t even exist yet. No one knows how popular Joe Biden will be by then, or if he’ll seek reelection. No one knows who will rise or fall on the Republican side if Trump is in prison by then. Prognosticating about 2024 is just an empty excuse to focus on an election cycle that doesn’t exist yet, with no need to get any of it right, and no need to put in any work.
If 2024 is giving you nightmares, the best way to fix that is to put in the work and win the midterms. The Democrats will be in a much better position to win the 2024 election if they’re able to spend the next two years continuing to deliver progress and passing voting rights legislation – and that first requires winning a majority in the House and Senate in 2022.
Chatter about 2024 is for people who want to be able to run their mouths about an election that doesn’t exist, so they can make up anything they want, and lazily ignore the work that needs to be put in right now in the 2022 election cycle. It’s time for us to set 2024 aside and spend these final five weeks putting in the work on the midterms. Here’s where to get started:
