Matt Gaetz is having a no good, very bad, horrible day
Matt Gaetz, of the reaching up to the ceiling hair, reportedly begged Mark Meadows for a “preemptive pardon” over the DOJ sex trafficking investigation. Mattie is reduced to begging. Why does this not surprise me? The Washington Post broke this story and said Gaetz pleaded with Meadows to ask Donald Trump for a blanket pardon on his behalf. SOMEONE was running scared.
This news came out during testimony to the January 6 select committee. A former Trump advisor by the name of Johnny McEntee spoke about it. McEntee said Gaetz pleaded for a pardon saying that “they” are trying to “make his life hell.”
“And you know, if the President could give him a pardon, that would be great.” Gaetz DOES have SOMEWHAT of a brain hidden underneath all that hair. He knew — and knows — that he was in deep shit. And being the little schemer he is, he figured Trump could get him out of his self-created mess. Only that didn’t happen.
Gaetz denied doing this (of course) and said to the Washington Post that he did not DIRECTLY ask Trump for a pardon. Notice the carefully worded language. Notice that one word: directly.
Gaetz asked Meadows, not Trump. So there isn’t any difference. And the icing on the cake is — Gaetz did not get his beloved pardon. So I guess that means the Department of Justice is STILL making the do-nothing Congressman’s life hell. Good.
