Mike Lindell claims the FBI just seized his cellphone, as DOJ takedown of Trump world accelerates
We’re not always inclined to take “My Pillow” guy Mike Lindell at his word, given his history. But this evening Lindell posted a video claiming that the FBI just seized his cellphone with a warrant, and in this instance we’re inclined to believe him, because we don’t think this is the kind of thing that even he would be inclined to make up.
What’s remarkable is this isn’t an isolated move. Major news outlets are reporting that the DOJ has issued grand jury subpoenas to forty of Donald Trump’s close associates in the past week alone, and has seized some of their cellphones in the process. Now we can apparently add Lindell to that list.
Keep in mind that for every subpoena or seizure or warrant we do know about, there may be several more that we don’t yet know about. The DOJ doesn’t announce these things as they happen; they show up in court filings down the road. The only reason we learn about any of these things in real time is if the target blabs about it, or if a third party witnesses a raid being carried out, and so on.
So what’s going on here? Here’s our best educated guess: the DOJ has spent a long time putting together its criminal case against Donald Trump for stealing nuclear secrets and other classified documents. Now that criminal case is just about ready, and so the DOJ is also putting together January 6th-related and election overthrow-related charges in order to hit Trump with so many criminal charges that any trial jury will find something serious to convict him on. In any case, things are clearly accelerating.
