Meanness is something I absolutely despise. And there is no place meanness is more prevalent than on the internet. All over, we see meanness. Cruelty seems to be a staple of the Trump movement, which embraced the art of tongue viciousness from the start.

Trump’s life has been about meanness and blatant cruelty. I know of few acts of kindness the man has ever done. Perhaps nobody we know enjoys having a joke at someone else’s expense more than Trump and his motley group of keyboard monsters. But alas! Now the joke’s on Trump.

Because Trump has entered the eye of the storm, and people are reacting. And Donald Trump does not like what they’re saying. We’ve witnessed some of Trump’s more cruel taunts. Yet the Truth Social post that inspired this article was not cruel. It was, however, stunning in its complete lack of self-awareness.

The following post came from Trump’s Truth Social. It is short and forlorn and says these words: “Why are people so mean?”

It is almost unbelievable. This is the king of meanness we’re talking about—a man known for unloading his treacherous tongue on everyone. And yet he is asking why people are MEAN?

Mr. Trump, traitor to America, keeper of all things wicked, the reason people take so much pleasure in your dark fall is that they hate you. That’s right. This is called saying the quiet part out loud. You, Mr. Trump, are hated. I hate you. Most of the people who read this hate you. Most of the world despises you.

The only place where you have a smidgen of popularity is your cult — and they’re not the majority believe me. Trump is now at the next act in the circus show. And that act is called: “Poor little me.”

The pity party had to come. After all, the raging has not worked. So perhaps Trump thought dabbling in plaintive melancholy would turn the tides. Only it won’t. Nothing will. The reason for that is that we know Donald Trump.

He is an insurrection starter, a traitor, and a terrible all-around person. And yes, he is mean. And no matter how pious he tries to sound, the world will continue to react to his downfall with unbridled glee.
