BLUE WAVE ALERT
Blue. Such a ravishing, magnificent color. It’s OUR color — the color of Democrats and the color of Democracy. But what else does blue symbolize? “Blue represents both the sky and the sea. It’s associated with open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, inspiration, and sensitivity.” Beautiful blue. Blue is said to also represent trust, wisdom, and loyalty. And our blue day has arrived. To keep it blue — and ensure a blue YEAR, we must work as hard as we possibly can.
The Senate can be ours with some hard work. Pennsylvania, Ohio Wisconsin, North Carolina, Florida. We need to donate to our candidates in these states, phone bank for them, and help them through any means possible.
And the House is looking increasingly encouraging as well. There are many candidates that need our help. As Bill Palmer has said, pick some and donate, call, text, do whatever you can. And also — TELL their stories. Humanize them to all the people you know.Look up the backstories of some of these wonderful people. For example, meet Hillary Scholten.
She is running for Congress in West Michigan. In Michigan’s third Congressional district. Hillary is an exceptional person. She is a former attorney for the DOJ whose great-great-grandparents emigrated from The Netherlands to Grand Rapids.
Her mom worked as a teacher in a high-poverty school. Her dad was a reporter. Hillary is now a wife and mother raising her own family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and has “dedicated her life to helping others.”
