Bad news for Marco Rubio and Ron DeSantis in Florida
Florida’s primary is coming up fast. And after it is done, the voters of Florida will have some choices to make. And it all has to do with colors. Swing voters will decide the election in Florida.
If these voters cast their ballots for Democrats, the darkness will lift. And then the colors — vivid ocean turquoises, glowing greens, pinks, and sunny yellows and golden — as bright as the Florida sunshine will prevail.
Or they can choose to vote for Republicans. And then Florida will be encompassed by gloomy darkness for at least several more years. It is a choice. And it appears some are choosing bright colors over omnipresent doom and gloom.
On August 9, The Bulwark did a focus group with twelve voters — voters who have voted for both Trump and Biden — the ultimate in swing voters.
And the research found some of these voters do not like DeSantis. Nine of these twelve voters said they would take the Democrat over DeSantis. One was undecided. That is ten out of twelve. DeSantis was described as “petty,” “egotistical,” and “an opportunist.” I like these voters.
Voters spoke of several things DeSantis had done they did not like, including his “revenge policies” against Disney. Others also did not like how he handled abortion and Covid.
And the same holds true with the Senate race between Val Demings and Marco Rubio. Voters reacted very positively toward Demings. They see her as “honorable, humble, strong and respectful.”
Rubio was described as “a puppet,” “absent,” and “a sellout.” People — if we get the swing voters out to vote in Florida, I do believe we can beat Rubio AND DeSantis. This is not the only research showing that both DeSantis and Rubio are extremely vulnerable.
So it’s up to us. Florida just might be one of the most challenging races, but we are here for it. It will be so worth it if we can defeat both these slime bags — and the research shows that we can.
