Republican Senator Ron Johnson flames out
Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin is unhappy. The reason for his apparent unhappiness is that he actually may have to put in some work to win reelection to the Senate. Johnson is unpopular, and his numbers are only getting worse. It isn’t any surprise. The man has offered nothing in the way of making our country a better place, and all he HAS offered are quack conspiracy theories and continuing and tired defenses of Donald Trump.
And during a recent interview with WISN’s Matt Smith, Johnson did himself no favors. Smith was questioning Johnson on the fake electors, a subject that Johnson clearly did not want to discuss. And then Johnson made the mistake of trying to defend himself, which did not go very well.
Earnestly trying to change the subject, Johnson became VERY defensive, finally saying he had nothing to do with the fake elector scheme — except for “a few seconds.”
Let’s look at Johnson’s words together, shall we? Not the most gallant of defenses. So Johnson says he only participated in the scheme for a couple of seconds. One. Two. That’s it.
“I had no idea,” Johnson insisted petulantly, “anybody was going to ask me to deliver those. My involvement in that — that attempt to deliver spanned the course of a couple seconds.”
Johnson continued to insist he was innocent and repeated the claim that any involvement by him was only for seconds.
That is an interesting defense, alright. Only I do not buy it. I do not buy anything Ron Johnson says because the man is a quack, as he’s proven time and time again.
And if he wants to beat Democratic candidate Mandela Barnes, he will have to work very hard and maybe stop talking about stolen elections so much. And WE will have to work hard to make sure, come November, Johnson has to seek work elsewhere. You can donate to Mandela Barnes here.
