Donald Trump has angry meltdown after Mitch McConnell blames him for tanking Republicans’ prospects
Historical patterns pointed to the 2022 midterms being a cake walk for the Republicans. But numerous factors, from the Democrats’ achievements to the Supreme Court debacle, have pushed these midterms into competitive territory. Now Mitch McConnell is publicly admitting that the Democrats have a strong chance of keeping the Senate – and he’s specifically blaming the crappiness of Donald Trump’s handpicked candidates.
Of course McConnell is probably just trying to lull Democratic activists into a false sense of security. If anything, the Democrats’ improving poll numbers mean that it’s time for Democratic activists to ramp up their midterm efforts. But McConnell is correct in that Trump’s unimpressive handpicked candidates are weighing the Republicans down, and it turns out Trump doesn’t like hearing that difficult truth.
Donald Trump is now angrily ranting and raving over on his failed social network about how Mitch McConnell is a “broken down hack.” Interestingly, Trump may have a point when he asks why McConnell is choosing to “openly disparage” the Republican candidates.
But that’s their problem. Any time Trump and McConnell are attacking each other, as opposed to trying to coordinate their efforts, it’s a good thing for the Democrats. Now is the time for you to dive in and start donating or volunteering for the Democratic candidates in the most competitive states:
Pennsylvania – Ohio – Florida – North Carolina – Wisconsin – Arizona – Georgia – New Hampshire – Nevada
