More bad news for Donald Trump
I often speak of the opening of Pandora’s box. No good came from that, and it’s much too late to put the evil back inside. However, we can shrink it. And with that being said, it appears that’s exactly what’s happening. I’m speaking of another kind of box. It’s a box that contains intelligence, logic, and sanity.
One can never have too much sanity. In spite of the loud and enraged voices on the right, the people have spoken! And why they have said is — we approve. We approve of the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago. In a new poll by Politico and Morning Consult, the people agree — by a stunning 12-point margin.
Here was the question asked: “Do you approve or disapprove of the FBI’s decision to conduct a search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida?”
The answer is that 49% of people questioned approve of the search. And 37% said they do not approve. And as it relates to the independents surveyed, they approve 47% to 33%. Another question asked of the same group of respondents was the motivation behind the search. Was it due to “evidence that Trump committed a crime?” Or “motivation to damage his political career?”
Forty-nine percent said the evidence he committed a crime. Only 39% said the motivation was political. And this shows us that people have it right. And it also shows us that there is a heck of a great deal more logic and intelligence out there than one might initially think. Notably, this polling was conducted before this evening’s reporting that the Feds were seeking classified documents related to nuclear weapons at Mar-a-Lago.
It also shows that once again, the GOP is on the wrong side. This is becoming quite a pattern. They’re on the wrong side on abortion. They’re on the wrong side with fun violence. Will the GOP ever be on the right side? Not if they keep going the way they are.
