Merrick Garland just nailed it
‘Not on my watch.’ This is from Merrick Garland, hero and head of the Department of Justice. Watching him, a few things struck me. One is that he is angry, no doubt. And who wouldn’t be? The lives of his people have been at risk, and we all know who they were put at risk by.
The second is that Garland did not talk at all about the details of the search. Good. He is no James Comey. He told us a motion had been filed to unseal the search warrant. This will not satisfy the blood-lust of the Maga universe. Why do I say that? Because nothing would.
It is so important to remember we’re not dealing with a political party. We’re dealing with a cult. Would the cult of David Koresh or Jim Jones have been convinced by what Garland said? Of course not. There is nothing Garland could say to convince these people unless he came out and declared his love of Donald Trump, which he will not do.
But that is all cults understand. Their lives are like a skipping record player—alliance to Trump — alliance to Trump — over and over again. If that all-encompassing love for the leader is not shown, then rage follows. That is why cults are so dangerous.
The good news regarding Maga is their numbers are dwindling. The protests done by Maga at Mar-a-Lago were a piddling and pathetically tiny amount of people. Maga is shrinking. I am more concerned about the media — propaganda networks like Fox.
For they have weaponized their viewers and put the lives of the many in the FBI in danger, as evidenced by what happened in Ohio. We need to join our voices together and make them louder than the hate. AG Garland is a remarkable man, as you well know. It’s up to us to amplify the message of equal and fair justice under the law. Let’s do just that.
