So much for the Secret Service keeping Donald Trump from going down

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

So the FBI told the Secret Service agents stationed at Mar-a-Lago that they were entering the place with a search and seizure warrant, and the Secret Service basically said okay, whatever, have fun with it, we’ll be down the hall.

So much for the silly narrative that Trump can’t be arrested or can’t go to prison because he’s under Secret Service protection. Nothing works that way. Even with the Secret Service antics that did take place (which are also now investigation), it was always absurd to suggest that Trump’s detail meant he would never end up in a cell. He’ll be in solitary confinement. If his agents still want to “protect” him, they can just sit outside his cell all day.

Some of these defeatist narratives that have been kicked around on social media over the past year and a half have been nothing short of absurd. There’s been this strange notion that making up unrealistic doomsday scenarios, and then insisting they’re absolutely going to happen, somehow equates to “vigilance.” It’s time we move past that self defeating mindset, and instead focus on ways that we can win, and then putting in the work to win.
