Good news for Tim Ryan

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“Greed is good.” Does anybody remember this famous line from the film “Wall Street?” In reality — greed is NOT good, as many a hapless CEO has found out. Who can forget the tale of Enron? There are plenty more of those stories.

Greed fills an immediate need, but as King Midas would surely tell you, having everything one touches turn to gold does have its disadvantages. Money can never fill the soul. It makes for the pretty, glittering outer trim but does nothing to stir the blood — to feed the soul. And sometimes greed can lead to catastrophe.

Ohio Senatorial candidate JD Vance would know about this all too well. The Hillbilly misogynist is such a perfect example of greed; I’d not be surprised to see his soul was a bunch of 100-dollar bills. Vance turned on everything he once believed in and everything he was, to kiss the ass of the orange insurrectionist and make his play for power.

And now his campaign is broke. Where’s a Wall Street banker when you need one? Vance has been running his campaign with earnest incompetence. His entire campaign appears to be calling people names and sending out infantile tweets. But what of the money? Well — there isn’t much, that’s a problem. According to filings from the federal election commission, the Vance campaign raised a million dollars between mid-April and the end of June. But they spent more than that. Oh, dear.

They’re now a quarter of a million “in the hole.” Do you think Vance hears the soft and unmistakable laughter of Karma? Vance has, at the time of this writing, declined comment. I don’t blame him. The man humiliates himself more daily, and it doesn’t help that his competitor and OUR GUY, Tim Ryan, has raised $9.1 million in the same period.

Perhaps that is because voters are smart. Perhaps they see through the outer Vance into the greedy hypocrite within. But we must be on guard. JD Vance is an expert at bullshit. He has been practicing it for quite a while, and he desperately wants to win.

So, please, if you have the money — donate to Tim Ryan. Volunteer. Ohio is within our grasp. Help the bell toll for Vance’s campaign, and let’s say goodbye to the craven greed of Vance.,
