Just to get out ahead of the Steve Bannon trial…

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Just to get out ahead of what’s coming: when Steve Bannon is convicted at the end of this trial, he’ll likely get a year or less in prison, because contempt comes with a light sentence. But the DOJ appears to be building a broader criminal case that’ll eventually send Bannon away for much longer.

When Bannon is sentenced for contempt, we’ll have to put up with rage fueled defeatist trending topics like “only one year!” or “only six months!” or “only 60 days!” This will be accompanied by the narrative that Bannon “got away with it all” and that we’re now “doomed” for sure.

Meanwhile back in the real world, Steve Bannon will be going into a prison cell, where he’ll lie awake at night worrying about what other more serious charges he’s also going to get hit with. And the defeatists on social media will still insist Bannon finally has us right where he wants us.

Steve Bannon has spent these court hearings trying and failing to uncover what else the DOJ has coming against him. Even Bannon experts to face more charges. Most of the media has simply ignored the reality that Bannon is likely facing additional more severe charges. But we need to be more savvy than that. When Bannon is convicted for contempt and given a short prison sentence, it’ll be just the beginning of his criminal justice system troubles.
