Even for Greg Abbott, this is evil

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Picture a beautiful and lustrous rose garden. It’s roses bloom in bright and vivid shades of pinks and reds. Until the vandals come. And then the garden’s exquisite flowers start to droop — from all the damage done to it by the vandals. That is how I see the state of Texas. Other than perhaps Florida, there is no state more in jeopardy right now than Texas.

People have died because of an incompetent Governor who didn’t bother to fix its power grid. There is the crazy abortion law there. The Uvalde Texas cover-up goes on. So much damage has been done to Texas; we’d need 20 pages to break it all down. But the worst may be yet to come.

In a desperate plea for attention Governor Greg Abbott has ordered the Texas national guard back to the border — to apprehend asylum seekers. Many had just said this type of thing was illegal.

That did not stop Abbott. Or perhaps it actually spurred him on. Abbott has shown us he has no respect for the rule of law so why should this be any different?

And the Department of Justice is deep into an investigation of civil rights violations of asylum seekers that might have happened under Abbott’s leadership — or lack thereof.

What Abbott is doing is directing his team to grab these people immediately rather than handing them over to Homeland Security.

They can then return them as they attempt to cross the border.

The President of Mexico is outraged and has implored Mexicans living in Texas not to vote for Abbott. I implore EVERYBODY not to vote for Abbott.

Abbott is likely doing this to ensure his reputation as a cold and cruel dictator-like moron. That’s the type of person Republicans love. But as we’ve reported, the race in Texas is tightening. Beto is closing the gap. Now would be a great time to donate to Beto if you have the money. Stopping Abbott must be a priority as we go forward.
