All-in for Tim Ryan as JD Vance goes completely off the rails on a crazy train
I want to talk to the people of Ohio. I want to talk to all of you — Democrats, Swing voters, Independents. Each and every one of you must vote. Tim Ryan is an Ohioan with a heart of gold and an unlimited capacity for empathy. If you vote for him — Ohio can only get better.
Roe has been overturned. It was a terrible day for women’s rights. It hurt. People wept. Trees rustled, and their leaves cried out. I know most of you believe in a woman’s right to choose.
But you are in danger. Because on the Republican ticket, you have a misogynist. JD Vance is the Republican running. And he, in my opinion, hates women with a passion. Don’t believe me? Behold what he has said about women recently.
From the Twitter account of JD Vance: “If your worldview tells you that it’s bad for women to become mothers but liberating for them to work 90 hours a week in a cubicle at The New York Times or Goldman Sachs, you’ve been had.”
Think for a moment about that statement. Do you enjoy your work, women? I know some women work because they love what they do. Not all but many. Would you like to quit your job and spend the rest of your life having babies? Would that bring a warm glow to your cheeks?
Because that is what Vance is saying in his tweet, he is saying that your work, YOUR life — has no meaning. The only meaning a woman can have is through birthing. All else is irrelevant.
Are YOU irrelevant? Do you think you are less entitled than men to have a passion — to love to teach, to sell Real Estate, to paint or to serve or to write or to help? Do you think Nurses are irrelevant? Do you think a woman who becomes a nurse has “been had?”
Do you not believe in rape? Because Vance also called rape an “inconvenience.” Do you agree with him? Would you like this man to decide your fate and what you do with your body? This man who says rape is “inconvenient” and working women have “been had?” If not, vote for Tim Ryan. He cares, he has compassion, and most of all — he will applaud your life choices, knowing those decisions are yours — and yours alone — to make. Donate to Tim Ryan here.
