This is just plain ugly
Protests and boycotts often work. And right now, there is a popular hotel chain that needs to be protested and boycotted. Everybody has heard of the Marriott Hotel, right? And they do often have beautiful hotel rooms and a long list of amenities. They will also, during the month of July, have the Moms for liberty.
Moms for Liberty are a far-right organization. Some things they believe in include banning books, punishing teachers who dare to speak about racism, and dismantling LGBTQ protections. Welcome to the Marriott Hotel.
Their national conference will be held at The Marriott in July in the state of Florida. Ron DeSantis will be a guest. Obviously, Marriott’s support of LGBTQ protections is in name only. And, in this situation, likely money talks. The Marriott will make quite a bit on this convention.
Now the Marriott CLAIMS to support Pride month and support equal rights for all. But how can we believe them when they would normalize a group like this? Moms for Liberty is a hateful group who recently attacked The Trevor Project — the world’s largest suicide prevention group. Moms for liberty called them groomers.
We should not spend our money at a place that encourages such hate talk. I encourage every one of you to call the Marriott and email them. Please speak out against this sad excuse for a”convention.” What it really is, is a nest of vipers, meeting to hatch even more plans to inflict emotional pain on our precious children.
The Marriott needs to cancel this convention. If they support what they say they support, this should not be difficult for them to do. Until they come out and do so, just say no to the Marriott hotel.
