Earlier today it was reported that Merrick Garland’s DOJ carried out law enforcement action at the homes of multiple people involved in Donald Trump’s fake elector plot, including multiple fake electors and at least one member of the Trump 2020 campaign. As we’re fond of pointing out, most of these kinds of DOJ actions do not get reported when they happen. So when a story like this does surface, it generally points to something much larger playing out under the surface.

Now it turns out the DOJ has also seized the cellphone of Nevada Republican Party state chairman Michael McDonald, according to local CBS News affiliate 8 News Now. This is notable because prosecutors must already have significant evidence in hand in order to convince a judge to sign off on a cellphone seizure warrant – which points to the fake elector probe being in an advanced stage.

Major newspapers reported months ago that the DOJ was investigating Trump’s fake elector scandal and was in the grand jury stage, so it comes as no surprise that the probe is now this far along. However, most of the mainstream media has spent the public hearings ignoring the fact that the DOJ is several months or more into its fake elector probe, and has instead allowed audiences to remain under the false impression that the DOJ has been doing “nothing.” It’s becoming more and more clear that this has not been the case.
