Rep. Barry Loudermilk wasn’t the only one giving Capitol tours ahead of January 6th
Rep. Barry Loudermilk has been having a bad 24 hours to put it mildly. The January 6th Committee has released photographic and video evidence that Loudermilk gave a January 5th Capitol tour which included one individual who was photographing strategic things like stairwells and later turned out to be an insurrectionist. But it turns out Loudermilk isn’t the only one who’s about to have a bad day over this.
Rep. Mike Sherrill was the one who first sounded the alarm in mid January 2021 about having personally witnessed members of Congress giving suspicious-looking Capitol tours. In the wake of the Loudermilk bombshell, Sherrill is now telling MSNBC that Loudermilk wasn’t the only member of Congress who was giving such tours ahead of January 6th.
Sherrill is still declining to publicly name names. But she’s presumably referring to information that she gave the January 6th Committee, which will end up surfacing during upcoming public hearings. As much trouble Loudermilk is in, some other House Republicans may end up in a whole lot more trouble by the time these hearings are complete.
