Here comes the GOP panic attack
At certain moments during the day this writer likes to amuse herself wondering what the GOP is thinking at this most fragile time for them. Are they getting scared? Do they pace their offices, do you think?
Are the walls whispering to some of them at night when they lay their dishonest heads down on their MyPillows?? I ask this because some of the little lambs are looking a bit — frightened these days — and sounding that way as well.
It is for a good reason. Now that Peter Navarro has been indicted and the January 6 hearings are coming up, perhaps, some of them are having a rare moment of lucidity.
Actually, scratch the “perhaps” part. Many seem to be panicking.
This is because the GOP is about to see their dirty laundry aired on national live television. No wonder they’re scared! If I were in the GOP (and thank goodness I’m not), I’d be nervous as well.
And the reactions are downright hysterical. Louie Gohmert. Ted Cruz. Elise Stefanik. Stefanik is actually taking things pretty far, saying the start of the hearings will be one in which the Republicans will “shine.” This comment especially caused this writer to break into hysterical giggles that lasted for quite a while.
And reportedly, there is to be a “rapid response” effort from the GOP. This doesn’t surprise me at all. Undoubtedly, something about “bad man Biden” will be said, and perhaps Hunter Biden will even make it into the conversation!
So as time flies and we’re having fun, it does not seem the GOP is — which is good. Let’s savor this moment — the moment of panic. After all, we’ve waited a long time for this.
