Should have seen this coming
Day after day, Peter Navarro has thumbed his nose at the rule of law. His arrogance has truly known no bounds. And now karma has responded to him. Karma’s response? You’re screwed. Peter Navarro has been indicted by a Grand Jury. AND he’s been arrested.
Go directly to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. Navarro’s arrest was foreseen by almost everybody except for perhaps Navarro — proving once again that with Peter, the lights are out and nobody’s home.
And Prosecutors originally wanted the indictment under seal, fearing that Navarro would possibly attempt to run away OR engage in witness tampering. Navarro is charged with contempt of congress. The Navarro indictment is incredibly satisfying because of the man’s inexplicably narcissistic attitude. His specialty seems to be having epic melt-downs on MSNBC pundit Ari Melber’s show.
Most recently was the other day when Navarro cheerfully threatened Democrats warning that if the GOP regains power, they will make President Biden and the lives of other democrats a living hell. Nobody ever said the man was smart.
Navarro brought this all on himself. He has thumbed his nose at the rule of law. He has refused to produce the documents he was asked to provide. He has refused to show up to testify.
WHAT did the man think? That the rule of law would just let him get away with it all? Did he think the January 6 committee would sign a permission slip saying, “We understand, Peter?”
The rule of law does not work like that. And the rule of law does not like being snubbed. And Navarro has spoken out on television often. If convicted, Navarro actually faces prison time –he’s been indicted on two counts of contempt of congress.
Up to a year on each count. So, what does this show us? Well — it shows Attorney General Merrick Garland is doing his job. It shows us the Grand Jury did its job. And it shows that that Peter Navarro is a bigger fool than even we thought possible.
