Biden White House comes out swinging

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Some days, finding headlines about positive developments is elusive. However, if you’re looking for hope and can’t find it, don’t allow despair to pitch its tent in your backyard. Remember that some of yesterday’s headlines also apply to today and tomorrow, regardless of whether the media happens to be covering it at the moment.

A new White House fact sheet marking six months after a key legislative victory isn’t about nostalgia or chest-thumping. It’s a needed reminder that positive developments often lead to continued progress long after their initial press coverage. Indeed, although half a year has passed since the enactment of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, that landmark legislation continues to have a profound effect on the United States and its economy every day.

As the White House points out, President Joe Biden didn’t just pay lip service to America’s mounting problems with bold, empty promises during yet another “infrastructure week.” Instead, Biden built bipartisan consensus for a “historic law” that is no less than a “once-in-a-generation investment in our nation’s infrastructure and competitiveness.”

Over $110 billion is already heading to more than 4,300 beneficiary projects in over 3,200 communities across America, involving rebuilding bridges and replacing harmful lead pipes to strengthening supply chains and improving high-speed internet service. The Biden administration is also making sure that 40% of the benefits of the climate and energy related investments go to disadvantaged communities while establishing meaningful safeguards for accountability.

Check out the fact sheet, entitled “Biden-Harris Administration Hits the Ground Running to Build a Better America Six Months into Infrastructure Implementation.” If you’re not already familiar with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, its depth and breadth will likely astound you. Half a year later, America is stronger and safer, and the progress has only just begun. With or without press coverage, it’s all good news.
