Jamie Raskin just nailed it
Jamie Raskin is absolutely nailing it on messaging today. He’s pushing the controversial Marjorie Taylor Greene out in front, and using her as an albatross around the entire Republican Party’s neck – which is exactly what you do with the most controversial and scandalous people in the opposition party.
The Democratic Party overall is very good at messaging. But too many activists on our side don’t understand that part of their job as an activist is to amplify the Democratic Party’s messaging – not sit around and pretend that the Democratic Party has no messaging.
Some “activists” on our side are saying they wish the rest of the Democratic Party had messaging as strong as Raskin’s. But that’s silly. Democratic Party leaders like Biden, Pelosi, Swalwell, Lieu, Schumer, Warren, DNC Chair Jamie Harrison, etc, have all posted tweets today that contain strong messaging. How many of them have you retweeted today? If your answer is none, who’s actually the one who’s bad at messaging?
For that matter, Biden’s upcoming moves on student loan forgiveness will make for popular messaging that we can use to win the midterms. But instead, a lot of people on our side will either whine that Biden is doing either too much, or too little, on student loans – even while continuing to falsely insist that Democrats have no messaging. The Democratic Party is doing this correctly. Th Democratic activists need to stop whining, and start amplifying that messaging!
