Ron DeSantis now has a Disney problem on his hands

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

“There is just one moon. And one golden sun. And a smile means friendship to ev’ryone. Though the mountains divide and the oceans are wide. It’s a small world, after all.” It’s a Small World. It sure is. What a timeless and beautiful song. And if one hops aboard the “Small World” ride at Disney World, one will find themselves lost in a delightful little island of magic, song, rainbows, and hope.

And perhaps nobody would be more aware of this fact than Disney Workers. How imaginative working at Disney must be! How wonderful! Just “DON’T SAY, GAY.” As you’re likely aware The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, is trying his most challenging to ruin the “friendships to everyone” sung so beautifully in Small World.

DeSantis would appear only to want SOME people to matter in Florida — and he is trying to pass his loathsome “don’t say gay” bill to make his hatred official. Only Disney workers do not like the bill. So they’re doing something about it. The Disney workers are staging “walk-outs” to put this despicable bill in the limelight. They want the Walt Disney company to try to stop the bill’s passage.

This is to be called the “Disney Do Better Walkout.” This “don’t say gay” bill is being met with outrage. This bill would keep children from talking about “gender identity.”

The ACLU says this: “It would bar LGBTQ + students from talking about their own lives and would deny their very existence.”

President Biden has expressed his disapproval of this bill. In fact. Many have. The only people who seem to want it are Desantis and a few of his ilk. What the Disney workers want is for the company to “cease all donations to DeSantis and state legislators who were instrumental in passing the bill.”

They also want more transparency from the company in politics. There will be several small walk-outs before the biggie scheduled on March 22 between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. This is a good thing the Disney workers are doing. It’s essential to get this story in the spotlight. Our world is beautiful, and we love everybody from every sex, race, religion, and gender. Ron DeSantis does not. It is time to hold him accountable.
